Zentangle on Fabric! Workshop – CANCELLED
We did not get enough people to sign up for the Truno Show and Workshop!
Check the next entry for an alternative workshop as a sew-along – bring fabric, pattern, and sewing machine for that event.
Alternate Workshop – Sew-along of Tooly Tote/Easel
Location: Masonic Lodge, 40 W. 1st St, Reno
Date: Saturday, March 24, 2018
Time: 10am to 3pm
Since we were unable to meet the minimum number of students for the Zentangle workshop, several of us thought it would be fun to use that day for a group sew-a-long.
To that end, we’ve selected the Tooly Tool Tote and Easel. The plan is to bring our sewing machines, the pattern and fabric, and sew away, helping each other as we go, perhaps putting a different spin on the instructions, and in general have a good time. It looks to be a project that can be made with fat quarters, leftovers or really anything else in your stash you feel like using.
Wouldn’t this be the thing to hold all your sewing essentials at Camp Sew’n’Sew? Join us for a Saturday of Fun! Everyone is responsible for obtaining a copy of the pattern. The pattern is $5.00, available as an instant download from these web sites:
Camp Sew & Sew at Zephyr Cove
LOCATION: Zephyr Cove Presbyterian Conference Center
DATE: April 2-6 (Mon-Fri)
Join us at our annual sewing retreat. We’ll again have that beautiful room, Inspiration Point, that looks out over the lake with huge windows, so join us for some fun and finish your various projects. The final price will reflect the extra day of sewing – but all felt that we all too often ran out of time and wanted the extra day. HERE is the application form. Fees increase after March 1, 2018 (from $425 to $450 for members for 5 days, 4 night stay with meals).
As before, you’re welcome to come Sunday afternoon to help set up the tables in the sewing room and spend that first night – we share a bed and room to keep costs down (e.g. 1 room to fit 6). Or just come Sunday, help set up the workspaces and your own and skip the night stay.
Date: Tuesday, April 3, 2018
Location: Camp Sew & Sew
Time: 1:00pm to 3:00pm
All are welcome, not just CAB members!

Quilt Show Reno
Come and enjoy learning, shopping, friends and fun. We have three days that have been designed specifically with you in mind!
The Expo includes a large vendor mall, workshops, seminars, make-it-take-it projects, FREE stage fashion shows, demonstrations and presentations. For the Sewing & Quilting Enthusiast, here’s your chance to shine.
Location: Grand Sierra Resort, Reno

We’re planning on having a booth again and will be seeking volunteers. As the date nears, check out what classes are being offered and see about working booth duty around those classes! [That’s what several of us did last year.]
No-sew Weaving Workshop
Location: Masonic Lodge, 40 W 1st St, Reno
Date: Sat, Jun 30, 2018
Time: 9am – 1pm
Shorter workshop that will focus on weaving various patterns (easiest to start with tumbling blocks, then try the others which DO make you think about over/under which strips to make the design). There will also be a setup to show you the pin-weaving technique differs along with some novelty yarns to work with (if you want to explore before workshop ends).
Please register by June 24 (end of the Reno Quilt Show), so we can be sure to have enough kits made (padded work surface).
HERE is the registration form – cost will be $35/members and $45/non-members.
Las Vegas, NV | July 11-15, 2018
Since it’s in our “backyard” we’re thinking of making it a group outing – details will evolve as we hear from those interested (charter a bus, convoy of cars, or fly and meet at the hotel).
