Quilt Show Reno – CANCELLED
Come and enjoy learning, shopping, friends and fun. We have three days that have been designed specifically with you in mind!
The Show includes a large vendor mall, workshops, seminars, make-it-take-it projects, FREE stage fashion shows, demonstrations and presentations. For the Sewing & Quilting Enthusiast, here’s your chance to shine.
Location: Grand Sierra Resort, Reno
Date: Jun 11-13, 2020 (classes begin before Thurs)
We’re planning on having a booth again and will be seeking volunteers. As the date nears, check out what classes are being offered and see about working booth duty around those classes! [That’s what several of us did last year.]
Annual Garage Sale
Location: 1365 Greenbrae Dr, Sparks
Date: Sat-Sun, Jun 27-28, 2020
Time: 8:00am to 2:00pm (each day)
We are still hopeful that we can hold this sale in June; if not, we’ll try to reschedule it for the Fall.
Wonderful fabrics! Notions! Magazines! Patterns! A sewists mecca. Come one! Come All! Spread the word! This is always a popular event with many waiting for it to start and, hopefully, the extra day on Sunday will allow us to sell more (and have less to return to storage)!
Verla has again agreed to be host for this year’s Garage Sale. Several of us have already weeded out the fabric and measured them, so this year is all about setting up the tables and unboxing stuff (and, yes, we’ve tried to get heavy items into smaller boxes to give us all a break). We’ll also need some help to set up and tear down the displays as well as be there to help sell off all the goodies.
AND, we’re always looking for helpers on Friday and Sunday. We may have schleppers for the work of loading/unloading the truck, so you are needed to sort and organize all of the stuff they are bringing over (Fri). On Saturday and Sunday, we need early birds (7:45am) to get ready for the browsers/buyers and late Sunday (e.g. 1-2pm) we’ll need folks to help with packing all that will return to the storage unit. We do plan on weeding out books and patterns so less of those items will be returning to the storage unit.

Swing Tunic with optional Peek-a-boo Shoulder (hands-on workshop)
This adaptation of the popular cold shoulder style is thoughtfully designed with the modest woman in mind. Pamela makes it appropriate by creating a scaled down version that shows just a “peek” of shoulder and covers any bra strap. If this isn’t your style, choose the classic shoulder option – the choice is yours! The swing-y tunic shape shows off an “essence-of-waist” and hides a lot of fluff. There are multiple sleeve length options including a flattering elbow length and a bohemian style “fit & flare”. Choose a modified or lower scoop neckline, or the stunning asymmetric style. Very chic!
This is our annual all-day meeting to determine our schedule and plans for meetings during 2019. If you have suggestions or preferences, let us know before the meeting, or, better still, join us at Julie’s!
Location: Verla’s, 1365 Greenbrae Drive, Sparks
Time: 9:00am to 3:00pm
Potluck & meeting. All are welcome, not just CAB members!
